Karla Schultz

DVM

Karla came to Bellingham by way of Maine, Oregon, Seattle, and Colorado. She was raised in Maine by her two Siamese cats, and working at a local animal shelter in high school solidified her desire to be a vet one day. She fell in love with the Pacific Northwest while getting her Bachelor’s degree at Reed College in Portland, Oregon. After spending a few years studying plant genomics at the University of Washington in Seattle, she traveled with her husband Andy to Fort Collins where Karla attended Colorado State University to earn her doctorate in veterinary medicine. She graduated summa cum laude from the program in 2019. Karla was thrilled when an externship at Northshore Veterinary Hospital transitioned into employment. She has quickly come to feel at home in Bellingham and with the Northshore clients. She is excited to work with a community that is dedicated to the welfare of their furry children.

Karla spends her spare time outdoors with her husband and their dog, Charlie. Be it getting muddy on mountain bike trails, traversing the snowy backcountry near Baker, or running around Galbraith, you can find her by looking for the little orange and white Brittany Spaniel leading the way.
